What Happens When The Bus Stops Coming!?!

Where will my child go after year 12?

Many parents will ask this question as their child completes year 12. In some unique situations, as early as year 10. In many cases, youth in special circumstances are pushed through to unsuitable day programs that does’t further their education. We are trying to change this and provide further education and training for youth who are capable of so much more.

Imagine where we would be if Einstein was mistakenly placed in a different job?

Introducing Rainbow Connexion, a co-working space to discover talents via specialised programs and real-life work experience to better prepare youth for employment opportunities. More importantly, we will develop tools that employers and their staff can use to prepare themselves for employment and inclusions into the workplace.

The programs will promote flexibility to allow students to learn at their own pace, in an environment where they feel comfortable and a sense of belonging. Students will be provided with a transition plan while they are in High School. This will help them move into our co-working space without any discomfort or distractions to their normal routines.

Special Aid supervision will be adopted to ensure the students are at their peak capacity for learning and get 1-on-1 time as required.

Transition is key

Autism and disability friendly

The students MUST feel comfortable in this new environment, and the transition from year 12 into the new co-working space needs to be smooth and start ideally when they are in year 10. The students need to be as excited coming to the co-working space as they did going to school.

Similar to what they have experienced in High School Special Support Units,  the transition from school to workshop, and workshop to workplace need to be a comfortable experience.

Untapped Talent Pool

We have access to an untapped pool of talents which is recognised by corporations. The missing link, however, is the lack of accessible corporations have to these talents. Forming partnerships with various industries and institutions, especially the start-up space to introduce new opportunities which will leverage on these talents.

Together we will aim for a new co-working space which focuses on the diversity and inclusion of all members of society no matter what capability they may have.

Peace of mind for all Parents

  1. Provide an environment where kids look forward to coming each week to learn.
  2. Specialised programs will be tailored to meet the needs of each child’s learning levels and capabilities in a group environment as well as 1-on-1.
  3. Give parents peace of mind with the aim to provide students with local work experience, office roles in an inclusion environment, skills to travel to and from work.
  4. Most importantly we also explore their weaknesses and things they dislike and find ways around this so they have the necessary skills and confidence to take on some challenges outside their comfort zone
  5. We understand that mainstream education and work placement may not work in favour of these students if care and diligent are not taken into consideration at ALL stages of their development
